Round Two

Immunotherapy Continues
This past Tuesday was Round Two. Candace went with me this time and got to witness me going in for treatment and coming out about 30 minutes later making a mad dash to get to my truck…

Round Two was more uncomfortable than Round One, and I attribute this to a possible 'user error' by the administering nurse, who was nice and kind and good, but she began the initial set-up a little abruptly and more painfully. I made a bit of noise during the setup process, grimacing and crying out in pain. She felt bad for me, and I felt bad for her. No one wants to inflict pain on another, particularly a nurse!

My response to the immunotherapy was similar to last week's: Head-to-toe body aches, fatigue (I slept 13 hours that night!), and brain fog the next day. Mild pain and discomfort at the site of the carcinomas.

Overall, the experience has not lived up to my bigger fears or worst expectations I had going into treatment—praise God! If this is as bad as it gets--feeling like I have mild to medium body flu--then I am blessed indeed. Most especially when you consider that this is cancer treatment, and when the worst-case scenarios float through one's mind where a person loses vitality in practice and appearance, this has not presented itself as the case, just yet. So far so great!

I appreciate you all, and will most certainly share more if there is anything significant or any changes.
